The cross of Christ God's Mercy and Grace
You got Questions, the Bible has Answers

8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?”

A person may be very moral, prudent, just, temperate, or not involved in illegal activities; all which are good, but these are not enough to bring a man to heaven. A person may have riches, material goods and a glorious profession such as a preacher, and yet fall short of ever reaching Heaven.

The Scribes and Pharisees of the Bible went far; they expounded the law; they prayed, gave alms, were strict in observing the law; if one had got a thorn in his foot, he would not pull it out on the Sabbath-day, for fear of breaking the Sabbath. They were so devout in God's worship, that the Jews thought, that if but two in all the world went to heaven, the one would be a Scribe, and the other a Pharisee. Their profession was with sincerity; they did all for the applause of men, and therefore they would miss Heaven.

JESUS SAID in Matthew 5:20 'Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the Scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.'

A man may diligently follow the ordinances, and yet not get of Heaven. It is wonderful to see people gather in Churches; but more wonderful when they are there to truly worship God. One may be a hearer of the word, and still fall short of the glory of God.

So do you want to get to Heaven? Getting to Heaven is more than the good you can do, being a member of some Church or being baptised. To get to Heaven and keep from going to Hell involves a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. How does one have that relationship with Jesus; but by being what is termed 'be born again'. Check out my other pages to find out how. Don't be steered wrong by those who do not know what Gods word says.
